The Bata Digital History Resource

Bata has been dedicated to shoes since 1894. As a result of the company's long history and its early geographic spread, there is no single, physical corporate archive. Instead, Bata's records have been preserved for decades by its employees, customers and the communities in a far-flung network of large and small repositories. To all of these we owe a debt of gratitude.

The Bata Digital History Resource provides access to thousands of documents and photographs collected from archives around the world, and connects users to a wide variety of online archives and references. The project is managed by the Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic, with funding from Bata Brands S.A. and the Thomas Bata Foundation.
